Ekhanei.com
2024 - Continue
Ekhanei.com (এখানেই — Bengali for "right here") is a classified-ads and marketplace platform serving Bengali-speaking users across Bangladesh. The brand promise — বেচাকেনা স্বচ্ছতা, এখানেই ওঠাপত্তর ("Transparent buying and selling, everything right here") — drives a product focused on trust, accessibility, and a community-first experience.
ReformedTech is the engineering partner behind both the frontend and the backend of the platform, working alongside the local team to ship features, harden the API, and tune for the realities of a high-volume Bangladeshi marketplace.
What we built
- Bilingual storefront with full Bengali + English coverage via i18next, including localized URLs, SEO metadata, and right-sized typography for each script.
- Listings and discovery — categories, subcategories, browse with filters, featured/recent listings, dynamic listing detail routes, and post-listing flows for sellers.
- Authentication and identity — phone-first signup with Twilio-backed SMS OTP, NextAuth for session management on the web, and Laravel Passport + Sanctum on the API for OAuth and token-based access. Social login through Laravel Socialite.
- Seller dashboard for managing listings, profile, and account settings, optimized for mobile-first usage where the majority of Bangladeshi users browse.
- API hardening — API-key gated public endpoints (
ejarnutowski/laravel-api-key), model caching for hot reads, and a clean separation between authenticated and public surfaces.
Stack
- Frontend: Next.js 14 (pages router), React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Lucide icons, i18next + next-i18next for Bengali/English, react-select, react-hot-toast, Zod for runtime validation.
- Backend: Laravel 12 on PHP 8.2, Passport + Sanctum for auth, Socialite for OAuth providers, Laravel Model Caching, queue workers, and Pail for log streaming.
- Integrations: Twilio for SMS OTP, NextAuth + Prisma adapter on the web tier.
Why Ekhanei matters to us
Ekhanei.com is a local Bangladeshi client and a flagship engagement for our Dhaka team — the kind of work that lets us ship products built specifically for the markets we know best, in the languages our users actually speak. We treat it as a long-term partnership: ongoing feature delivery, performance work, and the steady investment that a marketplace needs as it scales.
